Vicenç Martí
Chief Dealmaker
“Living an Unconventional Life”
Is the grandson of the Spanish Academic and Writer, Guillermo Diaz-Plaja and from him he inherited his endless curiosity. A student of Lycee Français in Barcelona, he then graduated from Saint - Louis University, obtained an MBA from IESE, completed the Stanford Business School Executive Program as well as the Singularity University Executive Program. One would think all of this formal academic education would shape Vicenç into a formal management style - nothing further from the truth. Vicenç has approached every challenge in his career by disrupting the status quo and redefining how things were done. A member of the Exec Team that took Vueling public in 2006, he then led the social casino company Akamon to a landmark exit in 2015 and backed the Arnau Family, the creators of elrow, to its spectacular growth and partial exit to Providence Equity backed Supertruct. As an early backer, Vicenç has been fortunate to participate in three other relevant exits. Vicenç has a 100% track record in funding each company he has been involved in, and currently his active portfolio totals 14 companies. Vicenç lives with his wife Ariana and his three children between Barcelona and Ibiza, enjoys his morning ice bath, is an avid skier and does not shy away from a good party, including his yearly pilgrimage to Burning Man.
